I was a skinny kid growing up. Even in my 20′s when I became pregnant with my first child I was warned by my doctor to put on some weight. I was 105 and had been training for a marathon, and I felt great. Well, I did what the good doc told me to do, and I gained 25 pounds.
Then I had my second son, hadn’t taken off all the 25 pounds I had gained with my first, then I had my third son, and the ball started rolling and I rolled myself into a pleasantly plump middle-aged mom. I was working full time, had a crazy busy life running after three little rug rats, and always seemed to be on a new diet or exercise program to try to get back to my slim & trim days before children.
Soon, though, my weight crept up to my all-time high of 170 in January 2009. I’m 5′ 4″ and 170 put me into the obese category! I was so embarrassed when we got our pictures back from a beach vacation in November 2008. What a sad sight I was, even though I tried to hide under an old-lady’s bathing suit with a skirt.
Well, my two younger sons had ordered this crazy-looking P90X workout program off an infomercial, and from January to March of 2009 my middle son Jeff did the program. He followed it to a T – the workouts and the nutrition guide – and he got absolutely ripped and the healthiest he’d been in years.
